Booking / Membership
Drop-In booking: The sauna is open and you can book a session from the booking calendar on the front page if available capacity. You will then share the sauna with others who have booked at the same time.
Drop-In period card: It quickly pays off to invest in a period card for Drop-Ins. Check it out from the banner links on the front page.
Private Booking: You book the entire sauna for you and your group, and no one else will have access during the time period you have booked.
Arrival / Departure - Key box
When you book an appointment, you will also receive a unique code for the key box that hangs on the door of Slappfisken. In the key box you will find the key to the Sauna and to the Sauna lounge with WC/shower. The code is valid from a little before to a little after the time period you have booked and is then reset.
Remember to put the key back in the key box immediately after you have opened the door. If you leave the sauna and no one is there to take over, lock the door when you leave and put the key back into the key box.
Note! The time period you book includes the changing time. Thus, you must leave the Sauna / Lounge in clothes when your time is up, so the next guests don't have to wait.
Capacity
There is room for a maximum of 10 people in Slappfisken sauna, but it can be a bit cramped if you don't know each other. We have therefore set the capacity to 8 people for Drop-In and 10 people for private bookings.
Oven
The oven turns on well in advance of booking, so the sauna is always fully heated for your session. You cannot adjust the temperature of the oven, but you can pour fresh water on the oven to increase the perceived temperature.
Note! Never pour seawater on the oven as this will damage it. If the fresh water container is empty, it can be refilled in the sauna lounge (Shower/WC).
Facilities (Cloakroom / WC / Shower)
There is a spacious cloakroom with a bench in the sauna, with a door directly into the sauna. There are also two sockets for charging mobile phones, etc.
You also have access to the Sauna Lounge, with a shower and toilet, which is located next door to the speedboat expedition. The sauna lounge should always be locked, and the key is in the key box (you will receive the code for the key box when you book).
Swimming:
There is a swimming ladder on the large floating dock, and we have laid out a comfortable surface to walk on down the gangway.
It is also possible to jump from the edge of the dock, but check the landing area thoroughly first for boats, objects, other swimmers and for strong low tides that give greater height and more shallow water.
All swimming and jumping is at your own risk - do not swim alone, take care of each other and be considerate. There is a lifebuoy on the north wall of the sauna and a defibrillator is available in the Grendehuset.
Bring:
• Swimwear (required – we recommend wearing swimwear upon arrival to save time)
• Two towels (one to sit on and one to dry with)
• Bag for wet clothes
• Water bottle
We do not have lockable lockers in the locker room, so it is safest to leave your cell phone, jewelry and valuables in your car or at home.
Food and Drink
Please drink water before you come to the sauna, and bring a water bottle as well to avoid dehydration.
You cannot drink alcohol or be visibly drunk during Drop-In in our sauna. This is for your own well-being and safety and for the safety of others.
Catering for private bookings must be arranged separately, but hard liquor is not available or permitted in any case.
Food in the sauna is not allowed, but for private bookings you can bring snacks etc. that can be enjoyed in the anteroom/cloakroom or outdoors.
Snacks and drinks with strong dyes, such as red wine, Aperol, cola and berries, are not welcome as they leave marks on the wood.
Remember to clean up after yourself and bring your own trash.
A quick note on cancellation terms
Your booking cannot be cancelled, ref. the Cancellation Act § 19, but please contact us if you need to change the time of a private booking.
A reservation can also be transferred to another name at no cost.
